Founded in 1974, the Lorenzo Walker Technical College takes its name from legislator James Lorenzo Walker, who played a major role in obtaining original funding for the school upon its foundation.
By 1978, the school was fully accredited, and today plays a major role in providing technical and practical education for future technicians in Collier County, Florida.
Lorenzo Walker Technical School’s mission is “to provide rigorous and relevant educational experiences that prepare all students…to succeed in their chosen careers”. With this mission in mind, Lorenzo Walker offers programs in a wide variety of technical fields—as well as programs that benefit the surrounding community.
Courses in culinary arts, dental assistance, automotive mechanics, and other vocational fields abound at Lorenzo Walker, but students also have the opportunity to participate in industry-specific community services that allow them to sharpen their skills in an informal setting under expert or instructor supervision while also helping individuals from the greater area.
